Cameron confusion on houses

According to Johann Hari:

A few days ago, the Lader of the Opposition was asked how many homes he owns. “I own a house in North Kensington and… in the constituency in Oxfordshire and that is, as far as I know, all I have,” he said. He then started to get confused, said he might own four homes after all, and pleaded: “Do not make me sound like a prat for not knowing how many houses I’ve got.”

Are there any other sources for this?

Cameron's a wealthy man - clearly so wealthy that he struggles to remember how many houses he has and then frets about 'how that might play'.

The truth is Cameron's no less qualified to be PM because of that that Michael Martin was to be Speaker because of his humble background & tortured english or Prescott was to be Deputy PM for similar reasons. There's a line of thinking that says you can't ridicule someone from a working class background but if you're posh you're fair game - that's a lazy double standard that says more about those who deploy it than it does it's targets...

But that's not what he's being ridiculed for. He's being ridiculed because he apparently can't remember how many houses he owns. Just as George Bush I was ridiculed for not knowing the price of various staple products. It shows a leader who is wholly out of touch with the people he wishes to lead.

Stephen,

He's being ridiculed for something that may not be that uncommon given his background and social status - it's no more fair game than ridiculing Michael Martin for his accent.
